Mead - Probably the oldest alcoholic beverage known to man, for past millennia, drunk by King and peasant alike. The word "honeymoon" derives from the ancient tradition of the newly-married couple enjoying a glass of mead each day for one calendar month to ensure the happiness and success of their union. Perhaps this tradition should be revived today? Vintage year 2004 Lurgashall mead is made in the natural, traditional way, by fermenting honey and water and has undergone a maturation process using oak barrels which previously contained spirits.
